Colors of the Shetland Sheepdog
Pictures below are all pure for sable and white dogs.  They can come in different shades from lighter to darker. Take our color poll at the bottom of the page!
Pictured below are tri factored sables, these are what is produced when you mix a sable and black gene.  There is sometimes hardly any difference in the pure for sable and the tri factored sable.  Most times the tri factored sable will be  a mohaganny color and even darker brown.
Below pictured are tri colors, which are black, white, and tan.
Below pictured are bi-blacks; they are black and white only.
Below are photographs of Blue Merles.
They are grey (blue),  black, tan, and white and can have brown, blue, or merled eyes (brown with a bluish hue to them, pattern like a marble).
Below are photographs of Bi-Blues.  They are grey (blue) and black w/ white.
Below are photographs of Sable Merles. Sable Merles are produced when you combine a sable and a merle gene. (Merle is a dilution of overall body color--black or sable--with streaks or splotches of darker color.)
